Until last week, I had never (to my knowledge) met someone who actually believes that aliens built the Egyptian pyramids. I've known this guy at work for 2+ years. I think it was the discussion a few of us started spontaneously about the war that kind of got things rolling, over the course of the week, a couple more times on other topics, like OJ. People don't deeply discuss important opinions and beliefs with each other in daily life as much as I think we ought to. (Or maybe I just need to get out more; that's pretty much a given.) When you've got a group of people who can talk instead of shout, things get a lot more interesting. Unexpectedly wacky, even, if also discouragingly unreasonable.
