Writing projects currently kicking round in my head:

adaptation of a nineteenth-century memoir (screenplay)

tale of the oasis (screenplay? novel?)

a time travel story (screenplay)

little tennessee, based on my grandmother's youth (novel? screenplay?)

barely-disguised autobiographical thing (novel? screenplay?)

all the travelogues at regulus

Not counting the travel writing, the above are what I've recently described in a couple of conversations as "five stories, two/two-and-a-half outlines, and zero finished." With another birthday coming up in a few weeks, it's way past time to get serious. Time to set daily quotas. Time to start getting up at 5 am.

yeah yeah, talk is cheap. But the more I tell other people besides myself, the more likely it is to finally happen. Never underestimate the power of others' expectations.

Aside from basic procrastination, fear that I have insufficient life experience to draw from has been my main mental obstacle. But if I wait until I feel good and experienced, I might run out of time to get all the stories done. Might as well just jump on into the pool. yup.
