In the process of poking round curiously about the upcoming King Arthur movie, which is attempting to blend familiar points of the legends with somewhat plausible historical reality, I was pointed to a few sites about searches for and theories about the historical basis for the tales. This one in particular, the result of a research project by two college students from Alabama who went traveling round Britain for a month or two in search of Arthurian sites, gets me all worked up to go back and see more of England over a longer trip than we did before. Other Arthurian information also here; note particularly the bits by Geoffrey Ashe, a historian whom the Alabama collegians got to meet in Glastonbury.
