The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile is in town. This is the third day in a row that I've seen in trundling along the freeway with me. Wednesday, it headed east on the 10. Thursday, I didn't see where it went after it zipped up the carpool lane past us slowpokes. Today, it got off the Hollywood freeway at Sunset. I suspect, based on past experience, that it will be at the Festival of Books tomorrow. Ah, the Festival of Books tomorrow! and Sunday! It has come round again, as in years past. How many years has it been now? Hmm. I don't think it's quite ten yet. Might be nine or eight, though. I know the first one was before I'd started library school at UCLA, because I didn't know my way around yet, so the first one must have been no later than 1996. I've been to every single one, for both days except for last year, and it is one of my happy places. And right on time, the Santa Ana winds have blown on in, which will make it hot and summery (aka "a scorcher"), as it should be.

110 South at 5 South -- Traffic Hazard - Loose Animal -- 4:48 PM You've read Make Way for Ducklings, right? Right? Figures that they, too, along with so many others, would eventually make their way to L.A. (Trying to find their way to the bookfest, perhaps?)
