A corollary to the desire to acquire my own living space is the desire to do some modest cooking in said space. Cooking, at least, is easily done. So I'm baking for myself (and M.) this weekend: oatmeal muffins, that's the plan.

(Ha. "M." He'll like that; isn't that a James Bond character? or am I thinking of Q? But Q is Star Trek too. oh well.)

Before we started out on most of our summer family vacations, among other things, we put together a batch of oatmeal mix. The mix took a bit of work, but once it was done, you could get three dozen-muffin batches out of it later, just by adding eggs and milk. These oatmeal muffins are one of my comfort foods. Hm, maybe I should post the recipe here just for fun. Don't have the book right here with me; I'll do it tomorrow or Saturday.
