I'm a little embarrassed that I get so many of my "hey, check this out" items from Neil Gaiman's webjournal, but the reason I read it is because it is interesting, after all. This round, I am intrigued by a map showing what people call a carbonated soft drink (soda, pop, coke, or none-of-the-above) in each county in the USA. Funny how there's an area of "soda" in the general vicinity of St. Louis, and along the west coast of Lake Michigan, when otherwise "soda" is confined to the far Southwest and Northeast. Wonder how that came about. Also I wonder, when a county is listed as "other," what exactly they call things there.
