Rain? In L.A.? In July?! this global warming, I tellya. A thunderstorm, even, last night. Or at least, two separate lightning flashes/thunderclaps; they flashed past my window shade upon my closed eyes and started me counting the seconds, as always in childhood, to count how far away it was. one-mississippi, two-mississippi, three-mississippi ... it was hard to tell exactly, because there would be crackling noises and then there would be the rolling BOOOOM, and I can't remember which I'm supposed to count to. Probably the boom. So two to three miles away, as the sound wave vibrates. I love thunderstorms, when I feel safe from them. It would be fun to try to get some good lightning photos sometime. I think my grandpa got some good ones in New Mexico once.
