It's now been over a week since I stopped taking my Naproxen pills (anti-inflammatory medication to control soreness in my right knee due to the juvenile rheumatoid arthritis I've had since around age 2). My knee seems not to care much. Knee seems pretty happy. This makes ME VERY HAPPY INDEED. I think the main reason it's worked is that I've been exercising pretty consistently since January, which has strengthened the tissue around my knee and made it more stable. or something. So actually, quitting the Naproxen gives me one more reason to stick to my exercise routines, to make sure knee stays happy. Because as long as the knee is happy without the meds, I don't have to worry about the potential stomach/liver/kidney side effects of the meds, and I can catch up on my drinking. Hee. Just kidding. ...mostly. Now I just have to remember not to climb any more mountains or great walls of china, or run any marathons, or move to an apartment building with too many stairs and/or no elevator, and everything ought to be fine.
