wow. didn't hear about the mega-power-failure back east till I got home. I saw 28 Days Later on Monday night, I was thinking about rising sea levels earlier today, and then I heard about the power outages. A bit uneasy. You just never know when a random meteor, large or small, might be heading our way.

28 Days Later is a good movie, go see it (assuming you can handle seeing lots of blood, or turn away at certain moments). but it was also very comforting, after being immersed in an apocalyptic England where nearly no one survived, to be able to listen to the eminently calm BBC World Service broadcast on the drive home Monday night, reassuring me that civilization was carrying on as normal.
