And then the rains came, the haze of scratchy ash driven out by rain clouds riding a wind from the sea, dry heat replaced by the haze of moist fresh cold fog, after a brief space of blue skies with lots of puffy white clouds, Friday daytime. Now, in the space of a day or two, we have switched from last-end-of-summer autumn heat to "winter" glove "cold" and cloudbanks, a dark gray looming background for sunrise-lit green palm trees as I drove back from aerobics this morning. Hello, rainy weather. It seems so long since I saw you last. A little change is good, now and then. Time to do the seasonal switch of sweater and T-shirt storage.
