21 october 2004 thursday

Just in time to disrupt my newly-found journaling streak, my parents are getting their house termite-tented today, and I'm taking a couple days off work -- originally I was planning to go to my 10-year college reunion, but over the last few days I realized I really deeply would rather stay home and use the time to get my new place feeling more homey. Also it would save me the hundred-plus bucks in gas, the motel charge, etc., which would help me keep my monthly budget in the black despite all the miscellaneous housekeeping expenses. And my parents and brother will be staying over while the house is tented, so woo whole happy fambly crowded into smaller-than-usual space. You might not think that would help the place feel more homey, but I think it actually will. Also a lot of the stuff I have to do involves getting rid of things I don't actually need, and putting stuff to keep on shelves and in cupboards out of the boxes they are now in.

Anyway, busy busy. fun fun.

political p.s.: cowgirl funk
